Colson Rand is a Texas attorney and Associate with Oldham, Klement & Noga, PLLC, whose practice focuses on civil litigation and corporate counseling. He represents clients in state and federal courts, with primarily defense-side experience, and advises closely held businesses on the legal and regulatory issues that arise in their day-to-day operations. His background in finance and accounting informs how he approaches both litigation and counseling work, particularly in matters involving complex commercial relationships, financial exposure, and risk allocation.
Mr. Rand’s practice spans civil litigation and corporate counseling, with significant defense-side experience representing public entities, public officials, and private clients in Texas state courts and the federal district courts of Texas. His litigation work covers a range of subject matter areas, including federal civil rights defense, governmental immunity, land use and real property, environmental and regulatory matters affecting real property and natural resources, employment, and insurance and commercial disputes. He emphasizes early case assessment, dispositive motion practice, and developing a practical resolution strategy tailored to each matter.
On the corporate side, Mr. Rand advises closely held businesses on entity formation and structuring, contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory compliance, and the operational and personnel matters that arise in the ordinary course of business. His experience inside the operations of regulated companies gives him a working understanding of how legal advice translates into business decisions, allowing him to offer counsel that is both legally sound and aligned with the client’s commercial objectives.
