Taylor Banks is an Associate Attorney at Oldham, Klement & Noga, PLLC, where she practices municipal litigation and represents municipalities and governmental entities in a variety of civil matters. Her practice includes defending claims involving constitutional and tort allegations, drafting dispositive motions, conducting legal research, and assisting municipalities with ordinance enforcement matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Banks practiced insurance defense litigation at Glast Phillips Murray Zopolsky, P.C., where she managed a diverse docket involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction defect, and breach of contract disputes. Her experience included handling matters through all stages of litigation, including discovery, mediation, motion practice, and settlement negotiations.

Ms. Banks also worked as an associate at Nishimura & Asahi in Tokyo, Japan’s largest law firm. Her practice focused on international mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and corporate transactions. During her time there, she worked on cross-border transactions, conducted due diligence, and advised on matters involving U.S. regulatory compliance and corporate law. She also contributed research and analysis to a published article comparing Delaware and Texas corporate law developments.

Ms. Banks earned her Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she served on The International Law Review Association as both a Staff Editor and an Associate Managing Editor. She earned her Bachelor of Journalism, magna cum laude, from University of Missouri, with a minor in Japanese Studies. Ms. Banks also studied abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Upon graduation, she earned an Honors College Certificate, Multicultural Certificate, and Digital Global Studies Certificate.

Ms. Banks is a published author and former journalist who is passionate about writing. Her publications include an article published in the American Bar Association’s Year in Review, which is the most widely distributed U.S. International law survey. Having lived in Japan for several years, Ms. Banks maintains a strong interest in Japanese culture. She can speak, read, and write in Japanese, and holds a Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3 certification. Outside of her practice, Ms. Banks enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with family.
